The magical process
So what is this magical freeze dry process?
Freeze drying has roots in ancient Peru. The Incas used the low air temperatures and pressure, which are experienced at high altitude, to slowly vaporise the frozen water from their food crops.
Firstly the meat is frozen. All the water turns to ice. Then it is placed in a vacuum chamber. Under correct temperature and pressure the ice turns directly into water vapour. The scientific name for this is sublimation.
This process pulls virtually all the moisture from the meat. What remains is a very stable, nutritious raw product.

Super tasty
The science says that the flavour is “locked in” by the freeze dry process. The taste test is simple. Feed your kids some freeze dried raspberries. Feed your pets some Good Noze freeze dried meat pieces. Watch their reaction. All achieved with no added flavour enhancer!!

There is almost no nutrient loss in raw freeze dried foods. The nutrients are not damaged by processing and/or heat. Enzymes, amino acids, fats and natural probiotics all remain intact and available to your pet.

Raw freeze dry meat with none of the smell. Freeze drying locks in the nutritional value of raw food, but without the hassle or odour of wet raw food.
Shelf stable
The low moisture content means no pathogens are able to survive. Once the raw freeze dried meat is placed in a sealed package it can last for years without spoiling.
Nutrient dense
Therefore you can feed considerably less than kibble. As a comparison a 350 gram bag of Good Noze raw freeze dry petfood is equivalent to 1.2 kg of fresh sirloin steak.
No refrigeration required
No need for refrigeration. Also great for travelling as it is very light and nutrient dense.
Freeze Drying Process
From farm to factory freeze dried in the Waikato.
The Inception
All products start as frozen nuggets. At this stage, all moisture in the product is ice.
Drying
The product goes into the freeze dryer which applies a vacuum while at extremely cold temperatures.
The Magic
While in the freeze dryer, ice changes to water vapour turning the frozen product to dry without ever thawing.
Final Product
After 8 hours in the freeze dryer, our product has transformed into shelf stable, freeze dried nuggets ready for packaging.
